Technology & Process
Solution dyeing (also known as dope dye) is not a new process but one that is showing a renewed interest for the dyeing of synthetic fibres because of its environmental impacts and resource savings.
Colour is added as colour chips within the polymerization stage before extrusion which eliminates the need for wet dyeing processes.
High colour volumes have traditionally been difficult due to the required extrusion minimums, but solutions can be found through:
- Working from stock colours in yarn dyed applications
- Collaborating across businesses to form alliances on core key basic colours to drive the industry forwards.
