A key element for enabling disassembly for material re-use and recycling is the consideration and development of impermanent joining methods and connections.

Timberland's Earthkeepers 2.0 collection was designed with disassembly in mind; 70 to 90 per cent of the materials utilised in the shoe can be re-used or recycled.
