Mono-material design
Mono-material design is an important step in facilitating disassembly and material re-use, as one of the major obstacles for re-using and recycling materials from post-consumer clothing is that most products are made from more than one material.
Jungeun Lee's concept collection 'Wrapped Garments' utilises a synthetic yarn moulding process, creating the entire garment from one material.
At the end of its first life, the garment could therefore potentially be disassembled in one process.
