3-D textile printing
3-D printing technologies have improved dramatically in recent years and substantial material savings could be achieved in the future, as this technology only produces the material actually needed for the product, thus eliminating waste.
Designed by Continuum Fashion, the bikini was the first fully 3-D printed, ready to wear and available for purchase item of clothing. Made with thousands of tiny circular nylon plates connected by thin springs, the textile stays flexible and holds its form.
